The Airport Test: How This Vest Survived (and Thrived) a Solo Flight With My Two Kids

The Airport Test: How This Vest Survived (and Thrived) a Solo Flight With My Two Kids

I'll be honest: the idea of taking a short flight alone with my six-year-old and my two-year-old was daunting. The checklist of things I couldn’t forget was longer than my arm: passports, tickets, wet wipes, pacifiers, phones, and snacks. I had my Yoyo stroller and one wheely bag, but I knew my hands would be full—I just didn’t know how full.

The journey started as predicted. The moment we entered the terminal, a fierce debate erupted over who would push the wheely bag. My toddler dissolved into tears, my six-year-old stood her ground, and there I was, pushing an empty stroller while mediating a high-stakes negotiation.

But for the first time in my traveling-mom life, a wave of panic didn’t hit me. Why? Our passports and tickets were safely tucked inside my Classic Vest.

Our passports and tickets were safely tucked inside my Classic Vest.

This simple fact changed everything. My hands were free to manage the stroller and eventually broker a peace treaty. We celebrated with the promised (and terribly unhealthy) airport donuts, which of course, left both girls with sugary, sticky hands.

That’s when the vest came to the rescue again. As they stared at their messy fingers, I didn’t have to frantically dig through my bag. I simply reached into another one of the vest’s hidden pockets and—boom—pulled out the wet wipes. No fuss, no desperate search.  It was right there.

And the pacifier my toddler is a little too old for, but we still desperately need on a flight? Instead of having it dangling from her clothes (where she’d just yank it off), I had parked it safely in another pocket. It was clean, secure, and ready for take-off pressure.

The best part? I was present. My phone was secure in its own pocket, my most important belongings were literally on me, and I wasn't juggling a diaper bag while trying to hold two little hands. I could finally focus on what mattered: getting my girls to the gate and actually enjoying the adventure with them.

The best part? I was present.

This vest wasn’t just a piece of clothing; it was my secret weapon. It gave me the freedom to be a mom, not a pack mule. If it can survive our airport chaos, it can handle anything your day throws at you.
